Brass or bronze barrels where usually polished & iron ones painted black to prevent rust - not sure what colour the for the carriages limbers etc, but generally brass bronze fittings would be polished and iron ones painted or even if it was fixed at this time.

I wash all my figures after block painting with either Peat Brown ink in gloss varnish or as peat brown ink is not available form Spirit Games & Army Painter Strong Tone is with that instead. I also lightly dry brush every thing with Miniature paints Pale flesh or Coffee this I find gives me the req...

Natural wool, as the coats were mostly wool like most other outer clothing. Natural wool is a very varied colour, but the stuff that got dyed started off some sort of pale cream and was bleached before it was dyed and it was usually dyed as yarn rather than cloth. 1:200th buildings work with 15mm figures in much the same way though I would be reluctant to mix scales if I was not using a rues set with a figure representing multiple men. Differing scaled buildings in a skirmish game look odd IMO. It does however work the other way round with 20mm buildings bein...
