Dismounting of Dragoons

I have a question for y'all. In the WSS (and maybe SYW as well) when Dragoons did dismount, how far back did they keep the held horses? I'm curious because if you were going to allow a unit to dismount then how far from the enemy should they be (theoretically anyway :-) ) and once they marched off h...

You can also try 'The Flag Dude'. Here is his new website. He still has his link with the Terrain guys but this is his own site.

I would agree with marshalney2000 and Saxon Warrior. But I voted for buckets of dice based on how I feel you would make a rule set simple & fast. I prefer realism over playability - to a degree - when I game so if that means more dice then so be it. The hard part is finding the balance which I think...

Dixon is fine but their range is limited. I really like the figures they do have but I wish they'd do a few more. You can't go wrong with Dixon but just don't try to mix them with Front Rank. They might mix well with Foundry so that way you can have a nice look to a unit. I love the Front Rank becau...

I know I asked this question before and the answer was that the French did not use pikes after 1703. But do we have clear evidence of that? Could this same issue be affecting the French as well and we should see some (not sure how many) units with pikes? I know Louis spent his nation into a vast deb...

Huevans07, Maybe one other item that might have 'improved' things would be the cadenced march. I'm just tossing it out because around the time of the WAS the cadence was introduced which allowed for more flexibility within the battalion. Also by this time everyone had the flintlock which gave the ba...

If I could add a request for the 10mm line you want to do. I do not know if it is possible but could the pikemen not have the pikes cast with/on them? I'd prefer to be able to add hard metal (piano wire) pikes if at all possible and I really don't want to have to drill out 10mm figures. :D

Andyrob,

So he already sculpts for Pendraken? I didn't know that. What then would he add, change from the WSS line that Pendraken already has?

Depends on quality - is it close to or better than Pendraken - and the cost. I did 6mm before I joined the 28mm crowd and I feel there is a place for all scales depending on what level of gaming you want to recreate and the amount of available space you have. So, I'll raise my hand for now.

I guess one interesting question would be IF the Allies (Confederates) did carry & use pikes in battle up to Ramillies in 1706 were the French and their allies also doing the same with pikes?
