10mm LoA

I would definitely be interested. With my current project on 10mm WSS (pendraken) and 28mm Napoleonic, the economics of 10mm LoA would suit me down to the ground. I am desparately trying to avoid the excellent AWI 10mm!!!!!!!

3RD LINE

I have now completed the analysis of the 3rd line of Schulenburg's infantry and the results, again reading from right to left facing the wood, are: Bade (Imperial) - In Sautai but only 1 battalion listed. Possibly a second battalion Dahlberg (Imperial) - InSautai Taston (or Tastung) (Wurzburg) - Not...

2nd Line

I have now completed the examination of the 2nd line units. Before listing the information I have, I can update the 1st line data. Hercules - Isuggested that this could be Heruilles, but while looking for information on 2nd line units, I found that a Holstein regiment referred to was commanded by a ...

One thing I forgot to mention, the book of maps is available at 'The Works' chain of shops for between £14.99 and £19.99.

The UK members may know them as they are an 'end-of-line' bookshop chain. They do have a website, but it is not available until April.

On another thread, I noted that I had recently bought a book that contained info. on the Allied OOB and that I would post details as I examined it. The book in question is 'Maps of War' by Ashley & Miles Bayton-Williams and the map in question appears to be taken from a copper engraving by Paul Rapi...

Malplaquet OOb

The recent book published by Nafziger gives information on French infantry deployment and OOBs earlier than the date of the battle itself. I also picked up a book of reproduction maps. Included is one of Malplaquet which gives the detail of the units in the 3 lines of Schulenberg's assault on the Fr...

Thanks for the link. Most impressive. The uniform areas of the site wete also very interesting. The diorama suggests that perhaps somewhere there is a complete OOB for the battle. Have you ever seen/heard of one?

For any interested parties I have just purchased a booklet (62 pages) from Helion on the above battle. It is a translation by George Nafziger of a 1904 work commissioned by the Historical Section of The General Staff of the French Army. Pages 1 -40 cover the campaign and include full army lists of b...

Dutch Army

Does this help? It was posted on another forum recently (not by me I hasten to add) "For the Dutch army Olaf Van Nimwegen (Armamentaria issue 30 1995 p47-60, in Dutch) writes that the socket bayonet was introduced from1693 and that it was complete by the start of the WSS, thus renderingthe pike obso...

Have you thought of taking paid-up advance orders? That would help the cash-flow and give a very good indication of interest.

I tend to agree with the views expressed and find the poor painting is not confined to the web. Many articles in the wargame press use figures to illustrate articles that frankly should not be used for close-up photography. I sometimes think that the standard of modelling has generally outstripped o...

Ramillies

New book from Partizan Press. 'Ramillies' by Neil Litten. £25 from Caliver Books.

Some 200 pages dealing with the with 1706 campaign. Approx. quarter of the book deals with the battle itself and the appendices have full OOBs.

I am about 2/3rds through the book and would recommend it.
