Is that a Portuguese Brigade behind you, or are you just happy to see me?
With Gen'l Custer Down in Mexico: Yes, one of the goals is to see how many times one can get him killed.

Well I don't see any Soviet Hordes Ben - so bluffer or not, you must have done a good job :D

My sig comes from Gilbert & Sullivan’s comic operetta The Gondoliers – a highly successful piece of light entertainment for Victorian gentlefolk written in 1889. The words are from one of the operetta’s cheerful satirical ditties which purport to sing the praises of The Duke of Plaza Toro, but in fact seem to be casting doubt on the great man’s alleged lack of military prowess and backbone.

I might write a bit about the real Duke of Plaza Toro (a Spanish grandee of shadowy origin…) if I ever get my Blog going.

No known portrait of the real Duke has survived, but my Avatar of Kenneth Williams in ‘Carry on Don’t Lose Your Head’ seems to be as good an interpretation as any.

Salutations.

My signature derives from the fact that I did use to be a sheep farmer. As you may imagine this was and continues to be a constant source of amusement to the various members of the Border Reivers club
But don't give it out if you can't take it......
I feel a batch of double entandres coming on.
I'll get my coat
