PARTIZAN MAY 08

Post by barr7430 » Sun May 25, 2008 10:21 pm

Well, we had a great day today :D
The table was very well received despite the Critic in Residence - (Lord Parkin of Derby) priming EVERY visitor to ask if I actually had accurately modelled the depth of the Boyne and whether the relative heights of the crossing figures were realistic! (Yes thanks too to Dave O'Brien for his helpful contributions on the same subject)

Some lovely games, thanks to all who said nice things about the Boyne... also to the helpful soul who recommended that I paint the Rangers FC logo in the centre of the Dutch Guards colours

Great to see so many Forum regulars and get a chance to talk rules n' stuff.
Pics soon, took lots and I think Dan from WI got a few in too!

My friend, Paul Robinson of the Grimsby Club, posted a review of Partizan on his blog titled "Partizan -- the Good, the Bad & the Downright Ugly". To read his review, go to:

http://grimsbywargaming.blogspot.com/

But as a preview of it, he leads off with a couple of photos of the Boyne game. I'm sure that he won't mind my re-posting one of his photos here (but go read his blog anyway).

Oops! I just realized that I don't know how to upload a picture. Anyway, I'll try something . . . if it works, fine . . . if not, well go read Paul's blog anyway and you can see the photo.

Well, that didn't work, did it? I guess that you'll just have to go to Paul's blog . . . and if you "click" on the photos, you can see a much larger version.

Saw the game in the flesh at Partizan. Very nice! I would have stopped to say hello Barry but you looked rather busy.

Cheers Paul.

Who won, the loyal subjects of HM James II, by the wrath of God, King of England, Scotland and Ireland, or that Dutch usurper Willam.

Photos of Battle of Boyne by the Grimsby Lot

Post by grimsbywargames » Fri Jun 06, 2008 6:58 pm

Hi there,

Really enjoyed the Battle of the Boyne at Partizan Barry. Well made, excellently painted and very colourful. Great figures and terrain too.

I am hopefully about to appear with a news item on TMP and TGN (Tabletop gaming news) within the next 24 hours. The photos used are from your game.

To view the photos I took of your game goto:

My video footage can be seen here:
