Barry,
I am thinking about building up a force to represent The Grand Old Duke of Yorks' 10,000 men.
Using BLB2 would they,
a. Get a move bonus for marching up the hill as well as down
b. Have to take a moral test if they are neither up nor down
c. Would they have to reform at the top before they came back down

your thoughts on the matter would be appreciated
cheers
perplexed from Aberdeen

ps What percentage would be Guards?

Well, Perplexed of Aberdeen, let me see if I can relieve some of your anxiety.

Clearly, as the Grand Old Duke's men would be all fine British Boys, up to 100% can be classed as Guard. Being led by the Duke they can upgrade to Guard Plus. This is a special and secret factor revealed only to owner's of British Army collections. It basically allows you to ignore ANY dice roll to hit or on morale from your opponents and for your own army to take automatic 6s for everything.

On the basis of the above, I don't think we need bother with trivial details of movement penalties for the British.

Hopefully this somewhat minimizes your stress PoA. The above will be made 'official' on release of Empire to Republic currently being written beyond these shores.

I think you will find that all the modifiers that you listed above apply only to the glorious armies of La Belle France and the enlightened nations that allowed their population die for Her.

It was very sharp of you to try and re-write the rules.

No, no, no, no and a non!

MY official rules are called Empire to Anarchy and if you haven't read them by now your either very slow on the uptake or game with a non-French army.

But shouldn't the French always win? I thought Davout's 3rd Corps fought in every action from the Revolution to Waterloo?

Isn't that what Napoleon said after Waterloo
