For the curious. On the TooFat Lardies Yahoo, is a thread entitled 'Thirty Years War', and BLB is mentioned be several people.

Indeed it is though I am entirely unsure as to quite why it came up though the subject of the thirty years war comes up quite often mostly because of the number of spectacularly aggressive Penguins on the list.

I fear some one with poor google foo asked the internet about pike and shot rules & it went down hill form there.

what's a penguin(in the context of the thread of course as I watch Frozen Planet adn know what a real penguin is :wink: ) ?

In Lardie "Dialect" a Penguin is a Swede of a Fin Or occasionally a Dane if you want to upset Leif

Sorry to be pedantic and all that, but not many Penguins in Scandinavia. They're a Southern Hemisphere bird. Or am I just being boring pointing that out :D

That had crossed my mind and I am now even more interested in why the Lardos call Scandinavians penguins, not least because my company is owned by Scandanavians who now may well BE penguins(if I knew what it referred to!)
