World Wargames Championships 2012 - Donnington Park

Post by Eugenio von Savoy » Fri Oct 05, 2012 9:37 pm

Hi all,

Just a quick plug or two.

If you are going to the Worlds this weekend then stop by and have a chat with the lads from 'Like a stone wall' wargames group as they display their 28mm Carlist Wars game Oriamendi.

With specialist terrain, thousands of Perry Miniatures and loads of feature vignettes by Nick 'The Mole' Buxey, amongst others, it will be a sight to behold.

Photos to follow after the weekend show.

Also an early 'heads up' for next years show when we will be joining the 500th anniversary celebrations of the battle of Flodden 1513 with lots of specially converted figures for the occassion and massive Scots pike assault columns using our modified 'War without an enemy' rules.

Regards
Tim

Hi Robert,

Thanks for the feedback. Its always appreciated.

I have posted photographs of the game on the Napoleonic board on this site.

We collected another first prize for that one - thats 10 now in 17 years of displaying at that show. Hopefully we will be playing the game through very soon and I anticipate that 8 of us can achieve a result in an evening session.

Lots of effort went into that game as all of the boards were made just for the battle. We hope to find a use for them in the future but for now its time to paint the new lead mountain we acquired at the show for next seasons games. Check them on our website
