Biggest Comeback Since Lazarus

Yesterday on the spur of the moment I went to Claymore in Edinburgh and was pleasantly surprised by meeting many old (that's you, David) friends including David O'Brien, the renowned Toggy (the Manoeuvre Point Miser), David Imrie and, of course Barry Hilton (famous co-author of Illustrated Skirmish Games in the Early Modern Period with Added T*ts).

Needless to say that my circumstances in life are a lot better (retired and in reasonable health) so, with your kind permissions, Gentlefolk, I will once again frequent these fora. For those of you who are easily amused, I will provide a link to some of my recent efforts:

Seriously though, meeting you lot again was the high point of my wee day out.

All the best,

Jim

Jim, it was a very pleasant surprise when you suddenly arrived at our display and it's good to see you back in circulation and in such good health. Even Hugh, who's even older than you showed up which was another great surprise.
Cheers
Dave

Therefore welcome back!

Barry,

As you say in your latest tome (the one with the t...), probably come and gone. I nearly spilled my coffee when reading that one. That book is great and has got to be the best produced yet. The sheer amount of background information adds to to the overall experience and the rules are so simple that even I can understand them. I shall shortly be collecting a force once I have thought up an appropriately inappropriate theme.

You are not getting away with it completely though; I love the way Clarence and your good self have each contributed in both American and Proper English so, I will forgive the fact that I have to substitute latter for later throughout.

Seriously though, wouldn't this make a great one-day event with everyone at odds with one another and making and breaking devious alliances? David O' would have a ball with special events.

Once again, it's good to be back.

Regards,

Jim

LOL... Thanks for the kind words.

Barry and I took turns doing the writing for Donnybrook. We actually discussed attempting to edit everything into one or the other style, but decided in the end to let each section retain its own character (so the chapters with the poor English are all mine).

I'm sort of out of commission for the time being, but I hope to take a more active role in writing in the future. Certainly there are various Donnybrook supplements planned that I will have a hand in authoring.

Donnybrook makes for an excellent multi-player game as well...
