Battlefield Tours

Any companies/entrepreneurs that specialize in battle-site tours of the LOA/WSS time period?

„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.

My frank advice would be as follows:

1. Get to Belgium with some like minded mates
2. Hire a car and buy a map, a pair of good walking boot and a camera
3. Take your history books
4. Walk (plenty), observe (frequently), use your imagination(constantly)
5. Enjoy

Cheaper, less blather, hot air, opinions and second hand history.

It is easy to do. I have now done this seven times over the past ten years. Go between April and October and the weather is likely to be good.

The NYW and WSS is in no way as well signposted as Napoleonic or WW1 periods. I once asked a man mowing his lawn in the centre of Landen where the best view of the battlefield was and the answer was..
'what battlefield and what battle?'

I have visited Landen/Neerwinden, Fleurus, Dixmuide, Walcourt, Oudenaarde.

Easily reached - Malplaquet and Ramillies, Steenkirke

Thank you both. Tour looks interesting, but yes a bit of a cost May be the price I have to pay for not having like minded mates. :?
