Hi all,

I recognise a few names here already, so some of you will no doubt be groaning and looking for instructions for ignore lists. :)

I've been wargaming since the early 80s, and play a wide variety of periods and theatres, from ancients to moderns, though my favourites tend to be the Napoleonic era (mostly the 1809 campaign) and Seven Years War / Imagi-Nations. The League of Augsburg period is entirely new to me though, so I look forward to learning a lot from you all.

Having randomly backed France in the Pendraken World Cup competition this year, I found myself staring at a lovely 20 quid voucher from that wonderful company, so it seemed like an apt choice to get some of Clibinarium's fantastic French LoA figures (with a little extra chucked in for my upcoming birthday from Mrs the Lemming). Clib's been most helpful in making some suggestions for further reading (and he also recommended this place, so it's his fault really), so I'm already starting to dive into the period.

My academic interests are in the Middle Ages (PhD in Medieval Studies), though I specialise in monasticism rather than warfare, so that probably won't be a large help to any of you unless you're looking for pointers for obscure religious orders and the colours of their habits when painting up monks or friars for objectives. I'm thus looking forward to delvng into whatever sources I can find to get a better idea of the period - my interest at the moment after a brief look at a few texts is the Flanders area of operation in the early 1690s. With that in mind, if any of you have access to pdf or online copies of the early volumes of Edward d'Auvergne's History of the Last Campagne in the Spanish Netherlands, I'd be much obliged if you could share copies with me. I already have the 93, 94 and 97 volumes, but am most interested in 91 and 92.

Cheers,

Nick
