The Gettysburg Companion.

Post by j1mwallace » Tue Dec 30, 2008 11:53 pm

I've long had an interest in the ACW. It first got me into wargames. Gettysburg has interested me for 40 + years and I've bought a considerable number of books on it. (too many says my wife).
I have to mention a New book by Mark Adkin from the military book club that I think is superb. very comprehensive. Excellently researched and illustrated.
If you are interested in the battle it is definitely a must. I thought I had every book I needed until I got this. Highly recommended.
ISBN 978 1 84513 342 2
Have a good new year!!

Jim,

I heard about it from Paul Mc. If it is as good for ACW as the Waterloo Companion is for Napoleonic then it will definitely be a Desert Island Discs choice of book!
The Waterloo book is not only a huge source of info but is set out in a very user friendly and interesting way. It is a real pleasure to comb through... how much is the Gettysburg book?
