That's a great little find Barry and it leads onto loads of other weapons being fired. I love the 32pdr being fired and the effect when it hits that armoured vehicle. Glad to see you're not wasting all your time in the sunshine.
Cheers

I was on holiday in Malta in June.
Went to fort Rinella which has a 100 ton muzzle loader.
The fort is staffed by re enactors
I fired a 3 band enfield and a martini Henry
I also paid 10 euros to fire a 8inch howitzer.
Excellent stuff.
Well worth a visit

thats the one Dave. They fire the 100 ton Armstrong each year. you bid to fire it.Firing the 8" howitzer cost 5 Euros. Well worth it. The fort has a collection of firearms as used by the British army from a matchlock to a Lee enfield. Again for a small donation you can fire any/all of them.
The Armstrong was never fired in anger but for a gun of its size has a surprising rate of fire (1 shot every 3 minutes!)
Good place to visit but then again so is the rest of Malta. Avoid the evening knights "spectacular" though. I'm pretty sure that there was more fighting and less dancing when the turks attacked!
