Charles I ( Lyme Park)

Anyone intrested in the death of Charles I might just be intrested in the exhibition at Lyme park in Cheshire, its brief and focuses mostly on his trial and execution. Some of the engravings and the european reaction to these events are fascinating. On show are the richly embroidered gloves given to a loyal subject after his execution and a dagger with sheath and a small eating knife used by the man himself! The dagger is inscribed "CARLOS" i think and seems in good condition. If your in the area its worth a visit just to see the house , its National Trust and not cheap, but the kids enjoyed the adventure playground and the wife the cafe and house.

If your there for the day, have lunch at the Rams head or for a taste of local "Culture" try the White horse, its cheaper.
(The historical evidence that God comes from Lancashire is slim, however he's definitely not from Yorkshire)
