ECW Horse uniforms

Post by Rob Herrick » Thu Sep 23, 2010 9:43 pm

Recommendations on sources for ECW horse uniforms?

I'm especially interested in King's Army at Oxford in 1643-44, and Sir William Waller's army down south.

I've a number of sources on foote regiments, but finding anything more difinative than "all buffcoat" or "anything you want" is more difficult for the Horse.

Thanks!

My ECW collection is based on units from Waller's army...

Thanks. I've already had yours bookmarked for future use.

Why did you do Sir Richard Norton's regiment in red coats? http://www.ecwsa.org/histbattleofcropredybridge.html lists "The Kentish Regiment" as having red coats, but that's the only coat color they're sure of.

Let me look around - I've got three or four references for the battle...

Thanks! I have Peter Young's book on the way, and some more web sources for the 1643/44 campaigns in the South and West, but every little bit helps!
