Hi All,
well title says it all, who was the author, Gordon, Patrick of Ruthven, History of Scots Affairs?

and are his accounts of the civil war in Scotland any better than say Wishart's?

cheers

Accounts are maybe on a par with Wishart's but from a different perspective as I beleive if i remember correctly, Wishart wrote mostly from the perspective of Montrose, using letters dictated by him. Gordon's writings should balance them out.
