Received an envelope from Spain yesterday morning and found my Late Romans on the cover! The Dossier of the month is on the Battle of Dunnichen 685 AD by James Morris abd they have used 20 pictures I took a couple of years ago for them and completely forgot about! Nice to see them in print at last

Bit of a strange issue for pictures, not only your late romans covering a picts v's saxons battle, but also AWI figures for the war of 1812, including sketches of Burgoyne and Gates
Good reading though

Yeah, I noticed that too. Although it was nice to get the pics in the mag I actually felt the mag was having a bit of a credibility issue particularly with the AWI pics substituting for the 1812 War. I mean, a Saxon and a German tribesmen probably looked equally nondescript

What started as a very promising magazine has really gone down hill in the past few issues to the extent that I have not renewed my subscription. On the other hand WI appears to be going from strength to strength.

Especially when you could have supplied them with some of your great pics of my collection.
Cheers

James Morris has written quite a nice article here. He's noted for writing the two most balanced and considered (IMHO) WAB books, the El-Cid supplement and The Age of Arthur supplement.
Barry, do you ver have the urge to pull those Early Medievel armies out and pop them on the table these days?
Cheers,
Darrell.

I am always on the cusp of selling them Darrell (and have been for about six years!) I always bottle it
More inclined to carry on with my Flodden Scots though... always have meant to go back to that project

Oh dear, make sure that they go to a good home if you do.

Yep, they look lovely. The dioramic bases are the way to go and went some way in inspiring me to model my English Longbow chaps in the manner I did
. BTW, I'd love to see the Flodden Scots on a demo table so if you do succumb to the urge let us all know.
I have always had the idea of doing an English Flodden army but as the only manufacturer who does a range of mini's (generally thinking of clothing and not armours here) is Dixons I have just never got around to it. I may still order some and see what sort of variety I can get out of them.
Cheers,
Darrell.

My 16th century Scots army will be happy to come into the club to give them a good kicking if/when you get some painted
But if they are at the back of the queue of Vikings, Medievals, WW2 and ACW I might have a bit of a wait.
Cheers

?

No Darrell, it's a specific pike armed 16th century Scottish army, mostly formed from the Dixon range but with additions from other manufacturers.
Cheers
Dave
