My technique is to surf the web and see waht everyone else has done. I went with some very basic colours with mine. Red and Linen plus some violet

The WRG book "Armies of the Macedonian and Punic Wars" had some information on the colours of clothing worn for hoplites and phalangites, however I think the available info is pretty slim. The other place worth looking is in the back issues of Slingshot; I have the CDs somewhere, I will run a search and post the results if there is anything useful.

Probably the best info on the army of Alexander on the web (for wargamers), is at Jeff Jonas' site.

He is also the man who wrote the WAB Alexander supplement.

Here's how I painted the new Gripping Beast Successors. The colours were sourced with the Montcert books on the subject.

Otherwise, as Wim Bdb points out, Jeff Jonas' site is excellent 8) .

Cheers,

Darrell.
