Basic impetus

Post by scouserlee » Wed Apr 22, 2009 11:25 pm

Hi barry, i seeyou are thinking about using Basic Impetus for your Arthurians, i would definately recommend them.

They suit the diorama style bases and are quick and fun to play, and unlike DBA they dont require a degree in english to understand.

Hapy gaming :D

David,

I'm ready to give these rules a good run through too. I've heard a lot of great things about them.

I reckon we might be able to get a few gamesa in at the club either before or after Claymore (ie when my Welsh and Franks will be ready :) ).

What say you?

Cheers,

Darrell.

Sorry guys..just about missed this post!
I had my first game of " Basic Impetus" last night at SESWC with Jack and Jim. It took a couple of run through's before I got the flow of the game and with some advice from Kevin who plays it regularly it started to make sense. All I can say is...WOW! Best set of Ancient rules I have ever played.
Darrel: We are doing another run through in two weeks time.
Lee: your spot on these rules were made for the way I base figures and see games. I will be picking up a set of the full rules very soon,

I've booked myself in for a run through on that very night. I need to give you a call David, what's a good time for the weekend?

Cheers,

Darrell.

I suppose that answers the question I asked you at the club "are they as much fun as Warhammer Ancients?" You looked very serious during the games but I suppose that was probably concentration trying to pick up the rules.
See you on Thursday for another Naps test.

Cheers

Hi Dave,
It's early days but the rules were fun and I'm keen to keep trying them. Jim and Jack were also very impressed. I must admit to being totally engrossed in the rules, and yes...I was very serious, but having fun :) For those of you who know me, rules usually bore me but these held my interest.
