I have Macedonians, Thracians and Scythians "comin' oot ma lugs" and the Persians are now the subject of my baleful gaze.

With 30,000 cavalry at one battle the plastic Persian cavalry cannot be ignored when building armies at a 1:20 ratio. That's 1500 figures so the Thracian (100) and Scythian (150) cavalry will be part of that along with several hundred Foundry Persian figures. I'd like to get some of the Vendel range but I've been unable to find their catalogue on the webternet. Do any of you have a cast iron link, make that lead, to Vendel and can they still be bought in this country?

Ross, thanks for that. That's the range I've been looking for. Now, does anyone know if they are available in Britain?

I'm also planning to add some of the recent 1st Corps Persians into the mix of Foundry, Old Glory and other figures in hand.

As an aside, but still on mix and match, between the Foundry Thracian cavalry and the Old Glory Thracian and Scythian cavalry figures there are loads of horse positions and figure poses. They look great together with horse and body swops.

In aswer to your question about where I'm based - Kirriemuir, Angus, Scotland.

Dale,

They are only available from the States to the best of my knowledge. However, you might want to contact Mutineer Miniatures as their stock is carried by sgmm, so they may be able to obtain the Vendel range. Worth a try.
