OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

That is a very nice vignette. I love the manner in which the features of the face have been highlighted with the shadow from the hat obscuring much of the detail leaving some nice dynamic highlights.
Darrell.

I really like the colour of the buff coat on the foot officer. Which paint(s) did you use?
Ditto, Hopton's armour - looks like a slightly bluey black.
Ssshhhhh!!!!!

Thanks. The colour used for the Buff Coat is Vallejo Stone Grey 70884 , while for Hopton's armour I used Foundry Charcoal Black 34B. The figures have been 'washed' with GW Devlan Mud and slightly highlighted with the original, or a slightly lightened shade. The picture isn't great, had my camera repaired now I have to re-learn the settings.
