The raising of the Saxon Army 1810-1813

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Dear Friends,

This week I receive the long waited 4pdr Fast Firing Guns of which 2 models each form a Regimental Battery for each of the 8 Line Regiments. I also receive six 12pdrs Cannon models as shown in this thread to form 3 Batteries.
My Painter will bring with him to our meeting on Wednesday the finished Foot Artillery men which I needed to man those guns.

This all means for me now, after getting back from Dumfries, quite a lot of assembling work on the guns, their painting and put gunners on bases.
Also some Limbers and Caissons are to be built.

In the same time my sculptor has time to focus on his own projects but also on the Cuirassiers and the Garde du Corps.

Pictures will follow as soon as I got results  :D

Cheers,
Günter

I can see the next game, your opponents have placed their armies, cav, arty and infantry, then you show up, puting battery after battery on the table.

Your opponents start to look a little nervous, thinking no!! he has to put some infantry on the table soon.

But now, just guns and guns.

Those 128 guns being supported by 26 Battalions Infantry and 36 Squadrons of Cavalry.
So, nothing to worry about! :D
