Just finished* these this evening. Perhaps I should have been slightly less disparaging whilst naming the album  Again, Front Rank figures and flags by the Flag Dude.

All super-secret secret weapons have now been cunningly disguised by a white screen.

Geez a chance Churchill  I've only just started.

Ultimately I'd love to do all 3 Battalions of the Guards, plus both of James' plus anyone else who was hanging around Oldbridge but it might take me a while :)

Thanks very much for the info chaps, that's just saved me from painting a full 3rd Battalion of GTV

I was curious about the Cadets too so a 2nd Battalion with Grenadiers at one flank and Cadets at the other will be forthcoming at some point now.

Kippax,

clearly you are a MASTER of irony or you don't come from a West of Scotland heritage as GREEN is exactly the colour supporters of the Blew Guards would not want you to go

A subtle tartan of red - white- blue and orange may be more apposite!

Just to add that the 3 battalions of the Garde te Voet were comprised as follows:
1st Bn: Lifegarde coy + 8 line coys
2nd Bn: Cadet coy + 8 line coys
3rd Bn: Grenadier coy + 8 line coys

The figures are splendidly painted, my compliments

kind regards

Iain
Thanks again, iain,

so, that probably suggests that 1st and 2nd Battalions were in Ireland?

On the Cadets:, are these cadets for the line companies or cadet Grenadiers? And if 2nd Battalion has no Grenadiers, who takes up the right flank position? Would it be the cadets?

How many questions can I ask in one go?

When we say cadets are we saying, adolescents in training or newly assigned men to the unit in training?

The same question must have jumped to the mind of a certain Union General(ACW) when he cought a glimps on the famous VMI-Cadets

The 1st Bn remained in London while the other two where sent to Ireland. Cadets were deployed at the right of the 2nd Bn as the Grenadiers were deployed at the right of the 3rd Bn

hope that helps ...

Iain

PS ... ask as many questions as you like, although no promises regarding whether or not I can answer them
Well, you asked for it Iain

My guess on 1st Battalion was because I assumed where the King goes, the lifeguard goes, but that's not a question, just an excuse

Anyway, back to the cadets. Red facings for definite? Or red facings in the same way as the Guard have red facings, except when they're yellow...or orange?

And as they're not grenadiers would I be daft in assuming the cadets wouldn't wear Grenadier caps, just standard floppy hats?

Anyway, thanks again for answering all my daft questions so far. And I think these should be the last...for now.

Thanks again Iain,

oh well, when I get round to painting my 2nd Battalion, I will console myself with knowing that at least the Cadets will be right. And of course the rest of the Battalion's blue coats...(he says tentatively with fingers firmly crossed)

Now, go and answer my question about Clanricardes
