Hastati

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Thanks

This is the resualt of about 5 days of painting and baseing.

Hastati, I gave them a blue white theme,

I partucularly love this commander, probebly the single best figure I've done.

I got quite good commnets on these, much better comments then I ever got for my Napoleonics.

And then I finished these principes today.

there was a little problem with the shields

These had a white yellow theme to them, I kept the feathers the same as hastati to give a clear view that they were the same legion.

I decided to devide each line itno two wings, so with a legion having 1200 hastati and 1200 principes, each line is two units of 600, sothe hastati line is 2 units of standard size, same for principes, while the triarii will only have 1 unit. torepresent the 600. This means each legion is 2 hastati, 1 principes 1 triarii and two small units of skrimishes, one legi9on will also be one "division" in the rules. so each divison has 5 standard units and two small skrimsih units.
