New project Landen 1693

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Hi all

Slow progress at the moment, but I have some more pics up on my blog, charting the progress of d'Humieres' Regiment. This time, it's the drummer, more of the pikemen, and the Drapeaux d'Ordonnance.

Just keep painting, just keep painting........

Best wishes
Andy

Hi Ray - apologies for the long time for replying!

Cheers for the kind comments - I am rather chuffed with that drummer! Having perused the information supplied by Arthur in the Regiment d'Humieres thread, I was surprised by how ' similar' I'd got him, just from the Mark Allen plates!!

He is - you might be surprised to discover  - a Foundry figure, from the Perry's old 'Marlburian' line. I started to buy some of these chaps when I began my Imagi-nation project, then they stopped casting them :( Then they started to produce them again, when the 'new' management took over, by which time I'd become intrigued by the LOA period :D

I like the style of the Perry designed figures, and although they get a bashing sometimes for their inaccuracies, they're still fairly 'solid'. Maybe it was my painting method, as it does look a little like the Front Rank 'Style'? The tassels on the shoulders are made out of green stuff.

I'm VERY tempted to get some of the Warfare figures soon, to see what I can do with them  Watch this space! Maybe after I've got first two French Regiments painted, which are Foundry.

The project is going steadily - hope to have some more figures done by the end of the week, then off to Partizan on Sunday. It's just a case of keeping up with the painting mojo. Thanks for the kind support - your stuff has been an inspiration over the recent months, so keep going with yours as well!!!!

Best wishes
Andy

Slow progress, for various reasons, but pics of the Drapeaux d'Ordonnance and the ensign from d'Humieres' Regiment, are up on the blog - only a couple of photos but enough to give a flavour! Any comments/observations gratefully accepted as usual!

Best wishes, and see you all soon with more progress

Just the 10 rank and file figures to do now - starting with the officer and sergeant. I might get these guys finished by the middle of December!!!
