My French Army so far...

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

My French Army so far...

Post by chema1986 » Wed Apr 16, 2014 2:30 pm

Hello again gentlemen, here is my French army for my Grand Alliance project... As you know , I have already a Spanish army and need a French one to play with. So I'm painting now french units from different manufacturers...
Front Rank/ North star 1672 / Foundry. I have to say I´am somehow dissappointed with Foundry miniatures... I find them very small and with bad proportions , I don't think I'll use them in the future. On the other hand I'm very very pleased with Front Rank and North Star 1672, they are wonderful minis and compatible even in the same regiment (in my humble opinion) You can judge by yourself.

Well, the army itself its comprised nowadays by 3 regiments of foot (La Sarre, Foix and Gardes Suisses), two field guns and a converged grenadiers unit...
I want to expand it with (at least) 3 more foot regiments, 3 cavalry regiments and one or two dragoon units.
I hope you like them!

Terrific paint job!
If you're so unhappy with the Foundry figures just send them to me. 8-)
Cheers

Beautiful work. Inspirational. Well done.

Especially love the flesh tones and woodwork on the gun.

Thank you for posting.
