I'm launching my 2016 project with the rest of 1st Battalion, Reval Infantry Regiment; 28mm metal miniatures by Wargames Foundry, flags by GMB, and mounted on Warbases.



During the campaign of 1812, a solder of the Reval Regiment captured the fanion of 1st Voltigeurs of the (Young) Guard at the Battle of Krasnoi (17 November 1812).

The second and third companies have been painted by Steve Hall of Hallmark Figure Painting Service, leaving me with the first (command) and elite companies.

My project is frozen in staying at 8 Battalions as my painter head some serious health issues and is now recovering.

Yes, the full division of twelve battalions with aspirations to add the two composite battalions and, perhaps, a four battalion grenadier brigade from the sister division in the corps.

Next up are some skirmishing jägers - foundry miniatures with the odd head-swap to bring in some shakos.



I'm not planning of doing stands for all four companies in a battalion at the moment as it seems to me that they usually keep some elements in close order as supports. However, I may add skirmishing elite companies in due course.

Those look very nice indeed, Stephen, and the freehand numbers on the cartridge pouches look great! I sympathise entirely with the challenge of head-swapping for shakos, but I couldn't stand to have them all wearing shapkas either.
