I've been working on this Command Base for King Harold in the background whilst painting up Huscarls for the demo.

You can see more pics and read all about it on my Just Add Water Blog here:

What a lovely Command base!
Loosing the Battle of Hastings with such a beautyful base would be a shame :D

Cheers,
Günter

Just watch out for that guy with the bow, he's liable to take somebody's eye out. 8-)

Hi Darrell,

Yould you please tell in which Figure Men Ratio this Rules work?

I am very much interested in this Timeline as it will be part of my longtime project of the "Year 1066" which will see a (natural) Saxon Army, but also a Viking and a Norman Army as well.
Thank you also for linking those manufacturers too.

Cheers,
Günter

It sounds a lot better if you say "Early Medieval" to yourself instead of the anachronistic term "Dark Ages" ;) :)

That's easy. I'll be using a variation of Warwick Kinraid's Soldiers of God rules (I see he's working on an Early Medieval/Viking Age set at present). As for the figure ratio, I've gone about it in terms of contingency ratio. For example, within Duke Williams army; the Normans will have the largest number of bases, followed by the Bretons and then the Flemish in proportion to what their numbers were (likely) to have been at Hastings.

Sounds very interesting..... please do post away as you go along with the project :)

Thanks Doug :)

I took some close ups this morning- some of them are at a 'funny' angle but I was using the macro and it was hard to get in to some of the nooks and crannies of the vignette!
