OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

These figures are superb - well done. The only suggestion I would make is to finish the base edges and give them a consistent look.
Amazing painting.

Yeah I keep forgetting that!

Hi Truls,
From my personal
point
of
view I like them very much! You have done a great paint work! Also the basing looks very well.
From the Saxon POV I hate them already
Keep up the good work!

Very nicely done, but I would echo Phil's advice. It's probably less obvious on the table top though

I just assumed it was snow on the bases.

I am a very big fan of painting the base edges. I agonize over the colours to use though. My two chosen favourites are

Can any one tell me the dimensions of the command based. I planned to Base my infantry and pike on a 60x60 based. So what size would my command based be. I normally get all my bases from warfare so I take it is would have to get them made especially for me. Many thanks in advance mark.

I would have been proud of that joke Truckwit!
Mark if you are talking about the half hex I get the from Warbases and that has 50mm sides which I think makes it 100mm across the long edge. Basically(pun intended) a 50mm sided hexagon laser cut in half. You could just ask MARTIN to give you the same as the last order he did for me

Just looked at Trul's pix again . He has used a smaller version of the same principle. I also have some of these smaller half hexes which I have used in some Nap battalions . The most recent GNW stuff has been the larger half hex as described above. Truls I think has used 30mm on each face giving 60mm on the long edge
