28mm Dutch Gardes du Corps

OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

28mm Dutch Gardes du Corps

Post by chema1986 » Sun May 15, 2016 3:36 pm

Hello there guys !
I had some Wargames Foundry out there and decided to depict them as Dutch Gardes du Corps, inspired by the pics of Mrs. Hilton's own regiment, so my Spanish Army of Flanders now have allies :P I will add some Imperial, English or Bavarian regiments to fight either de Dutch War or LOA War :)

Here you have the photos, but I have to say I much prefer the Front Rank sculpts than these earlier and smaller figures.

Chema,

following your inspiration, here is my poor example, if I had bothered to look at Barry's Battle of the Boyne info, I would have found that he has them in all Blue, but I like the red with blue :D :D

Nice minis ;) ! I see you have mixed Dixon's GA and ECW horses, I did the same with my French Royal des Carabiniers ;)

Chema,
you are painting like a VETERAN!

Gard te Paard - all blue with buff hats
Gardes du Corps van zijn Majesteit - red faced blue, black hats
