OK, so after two years I've finally given in to having a section of the FORUM specifically set up to discuss painting techniques, display examples, show your latest projects and chat about this vital part of the hobby. Manufacturers please feel free to post up your sculpts, ask questions about what the gamers are after and generally promote your work.. no charge! Painters, please also feel free to post up your work for comment and critique. I can't promise the unreserved adulation characteristic of some other fora but I would hope you'd get constructive and measured comment!

Great Norther war project is slowly progressing, with 2 Swedish Battalions finished, just waiting to be based, although I cannot make my mind up between the two basing styles.
I think I am moving towards the larger 60 by 80 bases as they seem more dynamic

Yes, I loved painting the footsore figures as the detail is very crisp, they paint the same way as Front Rank do. Next is 13 battalions of Ebor Infantry and 15 squadrons of Ebor cavalry, so not many to paint

I've set my first goal as 6 (7) battalions and 18 squadrons.
That's some 147 infantry and 114 cavalry.

Finished painting another Swedish Unit, this one all Ebor Miniatures, painted up as the Sodermanland Regiment, so I know have three Swedish battalions that match up with Barry's SIF003 Swedish Infantry Flags for Poltava.
Just waiting the arrival of the flags, which I have only just ordered

Also despite the heat, I managed to base up the rest of my small but expanding GNW collection, I have decided to base them up for winter for a change, and have used 4D modeling Snow Flock along with the Army painter Winter Tufts. I have experimented with using candle wax which I melted for ice.
First up Cossacks, which are a mix of Foundry and Old Glory

Lovely. I'm still not sure if I'll give my swedes arty.
My swedes will have 18 squadrons (108 figures) that a pretty mobile force. Not sure I'd want to have artillery slow them down.
Great arty and other GNW troops.

Very nice painting and basing style! Well done!
Btw., you seem to be the first one who found the final use for the coins that lost their value

Well after a bit of a dry spell painting wise, I have managed to get a couple of bits done,
first, 6 Foundry Cossack's that I picked up at the August Partizan to finish my 2nd Cossacks regiment:
next came a small unit of Russian Dragoons Painted as the Moscow Dragoons, Reiver casting figures, lots of animation but the detail is a mixed bag, but fun to paint:

I also have finished a 4th Swedish Battalion, Ebor figures painted up as Kalmar Regiment, next in the painting line is a 12 man unit of Swedish mounted dragoons, the horses were finished today and the standards have already been ordered from Mr. H.

Looking very nice, great to see people getting into this brilliant period, been approaching this in a similar fashion to you and covering it on my blog. I have also gone for the deep bases which I think work really well. Look forward to seeing your progression.
