Evading?

Post by Heneborn » Sun Jun 08, 2008 9:09 pm

I've probably missed something but I'll ask anyway!

In the turn sequence part of the rules there are mentions of evading but I can't find rules or other mentions of this anywhere else in the rules, have I missed something?

Henebron,

not an option normally open to regular European Horse but look under irregular cavalry in the Eastern European Optionl rules.. it's there

Ahhh, as I said, I've probably missed something. That's a really cool rule, especially when they can use their bows!

But I found another question, countercharging? Is a countercharge simply another charge test for the charged unit? The charging unit tests morale, then the charged unit tests morale and then tests again to see if it can countercharge? And that would eliminate the +2 charge bonus for the charging unit?

Alot of charge in those sentences

A bit simpler actually

Chargers test and succeed.
Charged unit then tests to countercharge
If it fails receives charge at halt (easy)
If it passes, Chargers roll 2 x D6 this is the distance they move BEFORE countercharge begins.
If the Counterchargers manage to move 3 inches BEFORE contact they receive the charging KILL dice (5 & 6 OR 4,5 & 6).
If they do not move 3 inches, they still KILL only on 6 even though moving.
NO other tests for Chargers :D

yes because infantry can ONLY charge other SHAKEN infantry. SHAKEN troops cannot advance, therefore NO countercharge.
The one exception to the rule above is that Infantry can charge NON SHAKEN infantry behind a defended obstacle but of course in such a case the defenders would never want to countercharge out of their cover!

Therefore... you are right ONLY Horse can countercharge :D
