Yes, just had a look at PMT. Interesting that trend... if anyone posts something bad the baying mob are right behind it with the burn the witch patter... if anything good is posted some conspiracy theorist thinks you planted the review yourself!
So... BAD is true
GOOD is not realistic

A fine endorsement of wargamer's behaviour. Interesting to also see that the cynical comment came from a cynical Brit. Oh how the cliches will out..

Thanks for all the comments here and on there. The response to the book has been fantastic.

Clarence and I will continue with our efforts and are in no way influenced by the many headed nay sayers...

I just posted there for the first time since 2004 and it may be a few more years again, depending.

I was plenty pleased by the .pdf version of BLB and a few of my local club (those working on WSS armies) are likely to pick them up too, partially based on my enthusiastic endorsement.

Once I can afford BLB2, I will buy those, because whether or not the club moves from BLB to BLB2 I feel that Barry and Clarence deserve the return for their work.

Oh that I had Bill Gate's income, I'd turn this hobby on its ear for all the great products and services provided by good people.

Which is why I am  because you chaps keep posting about the great photos and examples which I won't be seeing for another two months!

Basically, the haters of BLB/BLB2 at TMP can get stuffed for all I care.

Gidday, Barry & Clarence & "VERY WELL DONE!

My copy arrived in Eumundi on East coast Australia on Monday 20th, & I hope to use it this weekend - will let you know. Has it reached NZ yet?? That would be the farthest point of the Empire!

Visually wonderful & reads well - seems very clear, but a few games will let me find out for sure.

I will copy up a few Quick Reference Sheets as 1 set for each player (or side) could be useful.

Jim, as always I get a good belly laugh from your comments - as they say at the clinic - "Keep it up!"

Cheers to all & happy BLB2-ing!!
Rohan.

Rohan good to hear!

Just a little note for those of you who may not have received BLB2 yet. It seems to have not reached some parts of the planet (includiing CLARENCE in VA who has not seen his beautiful work yet!)

So, Patrick Boudet, Clarence and the few remaining devotees as yet unfulfilled, give it another few days aand if nothing turns up we'll replace.

All the books were posted in the same 24 hour period!

Keep in mind Barry that all parcel mail into the USA can be subject to lengthy delays since they imposed the new customs / homeland security checks (and even limiting the shipping companies / aircraft allowed to bring it in).

Been having a good read through the rules as I never played the 1st ed. The section on the wars and additional rules, is there anything specific for the WSS coming ?

For example, English foot in 1704 would be Platoon Firing rather than rank firing ? Would there be any other modifications to rules or classifications for that period?

TIA

Page 7 gives you a whole section about platoon firing explaining how it works. If platoon firing units are stationary they get a +1 bonus on their dice roll and if moving they get no penalty.
