After an ACW period (15 mm Fire & Fury), i'm going to begin a new one with the War of Spanish Succession on the "Beneath the Lily Banners" rules.
I have downloaded the QRS, and i'm a little confused about the presence of 2 Shootings Ranges charts ? Moreover the ranges of top one should be " close - Effective - Extreme" no ?

To Your 2x shooting table...I don't know how this has happend but the Shooting table in the upper corner is ment to be used for resolve a Stand and Fire Test at Chargers.....different words same meanings



In your case I would suggest you contact/PM quindia aka Clarence Harrison so he can take a look into this matter.

That is hilarious. How long has BLB2 been out? No one has ever noticed two shooting charts before. I don't know how we managed that nor why no one has asked the question before.

Apologies for causing confusion! At least both charts have the same range numbers. As far as Short/Close, etc. they mean the same thing - I suspect we changed verbiage somewhere along the development.

I understood that :

Short - Medium - Long : Terms for Artillery Ranges

Close - Effective - Extreme : Terms for Muskets and Bows Ranges.

Perhaps there is a typo on the top chart ?

I also noticed a 4 stands column.
If i understand, a unit should be composed of 3 stands. Under what circumstances there's a fourth shooting stand ?

That was put in because some people were using bigger sized units.

Also on page 5 there is a section called Smaller Battles that allows for different man to model ratios. The rules work equally well for brigade sized engagements with units of six, eight, ten, or twelve stands. Adding the four stand column was a nod to those with existing collections (4 stands is common in many other sets), but can technically play BLB with units of any size. For units of greater than four stands, I would just break the battalion into as few 'platoons' as possible...

i.e. A twelve stand battalions fires in three groups of four, etc.
