That's some commitment Curt.. we'd love to see you here! The timing is out only by a couple of days this time.. what a pity.

We'll have Adrian's beautiful Ligny terrain on display too.. never mind.. lots of pix!

Yeah, just a couple more days and I could have squeaked it in (even just to observe), oh well. We try to get over here once a year so we'll see if we can line things up better next time. Nonetheless today I did manage a visit to the newly refurbished Musee de l'Armee at les Invalides. Simply amazing collection of artifacts - and beautifully presented. It has me quite inspired to get some more units painted...

Hi Barry,
Planning to turn up next Sunday. Would love a command, but as Ive been a bit useless could just come and observe. Do you need any French? I have a few battalions ready to go and a few 'top up units if nec. In partc some nice Perry cuirassiers, cannon, commanders, line infantry battalions.
Let me know.
Yours
Iain

Have a good weekend gentlemen. Ronald and I are now off to Texas until November 5th. On my return i have a little job to do under parliament.

One thing i found a bit strange. we are going to a charity ball and it was suggested I bring my kilt and even wear it. However they told me to buy a safety sgian dhu as carrying a concealed knife is illegal. A bit strange since I can carry an assault rifle openly!!

We will get back to the local gun club and have another bash with my friends Barret .50cal.
cheers

A commander stirs in his saddle...

"Is that thunder and the scent of blackpowder in the air? To the guns gentlemen, a battle is afoot!"

You lot should well be into by now, have fun!

We were well and truly at it! I think this may have been the best one yet. We tried a new idea.. a rolling table. This meant that the French advance 21 feet over the two days against the Anglo Dutch and about 12 feet against the Prussians at Gilly. We had everything over the two days including massed cavalry charges, Infantry v Infantry, squares that borke, squares that didn't, FIBUA, events, a Waterloo quiz, a movie, excellent food and.. booze 8)
I'll leave it to the boys to tell you about it but Mr Imrie's Saxon Dog Blog has some loveley pics..

Off to Dubai at 0400 tomorrow so speak to you all soon!

Cheers
