Our weekenders are up and running well now so we want to see if folks we can cater for another gaming group who might not manage a weekender- overnight commitment. We are in discussions with the nice chaps at Mutineer Miniatures in Whitburn to put on a one day Republic to Empire Napoleonic epic on January 16th.
28mm scale
12 x 6 table
All figures supplied
Scenario will be between 1812-1815 and tbc.

All you'll need is your dice and tape. If you don;t have the rules, Mutineer sell 'em on the day.

Included in the price: Lunch, on tap tea, coffee, juice and biccies. Parking is free outside the venue which is 15 minutes off the M8. About 45 minutes from Glasgow and 35 from Edinburgh.

Price:£30 per head. Bookings made with either Mutineer or via wordtwister@hotmail.co.uk or PM via the forum.

Cheers

Hi Barry

As gaming with you guys is all I get, will probably be up for this as well as Borodino.

What time is kick off and what time is estimated finish ?

Also as winter has come early this will affect whether I can get up so how much notice will you need?

Kick off will be about 9.30 Bob. Finish about 7-8. You could turn up when you turn up or leave a bit earlier. Don't need to confirm for a bit.

cheers

Hi Barry,

Still aiming on being on parade for Quatre Bras, but it is still dependant on how much snow comes down between now & then.

Just been looking at long range forecast & doesn,t seem to bad, but it can change quickly.

So if its alright with you i,ll be a definite maybe until next week when the weather pattern should be a bit clearer.

See you soon

K Bob 8) no pressure from this side. The game will be small by our standards 5-6 players 12 x 6 table but still a good 'un! You'll be very welcome as always!!

Cheers

OK! Scenario finally chosen.

1800 - 2100 Hours 18th June 1815 The last throw of the dice!
Using the La Haie Sainte section of the ridge at Waterloo we'll have the Emperor himself throw the last remanants of his army against Wellington.

Troops that will be on the table: Maitland's, Pack's Halkett's Kruse's, Detmers, Ponsonby's brigades for the Allies.
Donzelot's & Quiot's Divisions (remnants), Friant's Guards lots of cavalry and artillery for the French!

Not sure how many player's we'll have on the day waiting on some folks to confirm.

Should be a good 'un anyway! :D

Until I spoke to Barry this morning for some reason I had it in my head that the 16th was a Saturday, would have been a long wait for the start of the game. See you on Sunday Bob.
Cheers

Really enjoyed this scenario... another nail- biter either side could have won it right to the last throw of the dice but a narrow vicotry to the bloody but unbowed Allies.....

PS... will write up the scenario and add it to the growing list in the WARCHEST..

That's a grudging comment from the French umpire for what was a dramatic Allied victory.

Barry took a load of photos but I know he is off on his travels again so it might be the end of the week before he can post them.
