Precisions about CHARGE and what is "Incline Movement&q

Post by groslau » Sun Mar 20, 2011 8:53 pm

Good evening to all,

After a game this afternoon, 2 little unclear points ( for us ) arised...

1- incline Movement : is it moving at 45° ? ( quite a question of language/translation here...)

2 - Charge : . Is it necessary to charge a target at a 45° angle ? In other words can we charge a unit that is out of this charge cone ?
. Can we charge a unit behind a hill that is out of LOS ? Assuming we have enough movement to reach the target of course...

That's it !!

Best regards,

GrosLau.

Incline movement is any degree of inclining whilst still facing to the front and the movement is made at half speed.

All charges are made in a straight line, you should angle your troops to face the enemy you wish to charge in your normal movement.
You cannot charge an enemy you cannot see but again you could move towards the enemy in the normal movement phase then charge them in the charging phase if you can see them, have attack orders and also have MP's for the unit to charge.

Hope this helps?

As usual the encyclopaedic 'Dave' is correct! 8)

The main reason that CHARGING is at the end of the turn sequence is to enable armies to:

1. Plan an attack
2. Change orders to enable an attack
3. Manoeuvre to attack
4. Pre bombard the target
5. Shoot in the attack
6. Charge!

The 'interruptions' from the non phase side are designed to simulate reaction to the unfolding situation.

@David & Barry,

We had a doubt, thanks for having dissipated it

Sincerely,

GrosLau.
