R2E / The March of Eagles fusion!!!

Post by barr7430 » Mon Dec 12, 2011 9:52 am

We just finished a Republic to Empire Peninsular Weekender with a twist...
For the first 3 hours of Day1 we played starter scenarios using The March of Eagles including the new draft cavalry rules.

The scenarios:

1. Take the high ground (Featuring a brigade of 'Green' Neapolitans facing a brigade of 'Green' Spaniards.

2. Capture the Arsenal (Featuring a brigade of 'Veteran French' against a mixed brigade of Portuguese

3. Running the Gauntlet (Featuring a very rag tag French column trying to get from one diagonal corner of a 6 feet wide table to the other whilst being hampered by cavalry, guerillas, Royal Marines, Riflemen and Spanish recruits)

We also used the 'card system' which I have developed as a universal addition to any rule set. That seemed to go down well.

STRAW EXIT POLL SEEMED TO INDICATE THE COMBO OF THE 2 TYPES OF GAME WAS A HIT. SO IT IS LIKELY TO FEATURE IN FUTURE R2E WEEKENDERS ORGANIZED BY ME.

At last they realise the truth about you
I kept saying that you made me make up all the nasty events but they didn't believe me. Sounds like you all had a great time, I wish I could have been there but too busy with Christmas stuff and working
