number of flags for an american awi unit.

wondering if any one who wargames the American war of inpependence could help . how many flags would you use for an American unit of the 1777-78 period would you use one flag per regiment or two.

Most of the time we have no idea what flags American units carried... some may not have even had any. Some units DO have two flags attributed to them, but it is hard to know if these were carried together of if they were replaced. All in all, most units seem to have been left to provide their own flags...
For my own collection, I am using one flag per unit.
