Actually Jim old chap. Check your OED. The illusion that 'z' is an Americanism is totally false. It is an artifical construct convention which has moved into urban myth 's; UK 'z' US is just wrong (fuelled by the laziness of computer spell checks).

I made a very conscious decision to inform my PA and Admin team to ignore Microsoft spell checkers because some whim of a programming geek dictates what is right or wrong.... I do not apologiZe for being a pedant and hope you recogniZe the rationality of the argument

Barry, would be interested in GNW Russians, particularly Karpus / Kartuz hats.

Would it be viable as an alternative to just produce a range of karpus clad heads for existing figures...?

I'll have a chat with you on Saturday.

Right or wrong, I still think the 'z' just looks totally out of place... :(

Jim,

yes karpus 'heads' are a possibility but Clibinarium does not like the 'lazy principle' of one dolly 10 heads as he believes it destroys the option of producing a degree of individuality in the models. We may go for it if there are cash constraints and I am happy to discuss on Saturday or any other time..

On the subject of unavailable French types... within the Warfare plan

Maison du Roi infantry and Mounted/dismounted dragoons are already part of the sculpting schedule..

How about plans for Horse Grenadiers for Dutch Guard Dragoons, English/Scots/Dutch Life Guards and French Grenadier a Cheval.

Warfare Miniatures is becoming a form of art 8)

You could have a "code" and swap head with the fifures in the code. If you have five marching figures in hats you could use the same figures in karpus, I would assume.

Hi guys,

for clarity my issue with heads is just that I don't like to dolly them, I think every figure should have its own individual face to give them a little individual character. There's a bit of an issue too with producing separate heads, as its hard for customers to fit them and get them not to look like they've been plugged in, however I am not against separate heads in principle. As Dan says the best approach is to do two codes, have one pack in hats and then the same figures in karpus.

In general GNW is something I'd be enthusiastic about having a go at.

Same figures, but with karpus, would suit me fine... I love the randomness within the packs / units and that is one of the things I would really want to incorporate in my regiments.

As I said earlier, sign me up, and I will support the effort as best I can.

I do support the Saxon "venture" and would like also to see 1683 catered for as practicality allows.

Indeed, that is one the great strength of WMs.

Just to keep everyone up to date on this, it is a live issue and I am just giving the whole subject a bit of a chance to breathe before we make a commit to the next stage. As Warfare already has a very active expansion policy whatever comes out of this stream of productivity will be a real bonus. Also, with a larger number of voters you get a more balanced picture of what would prove most popular. I think the field is seperating a little now and we're getting a better idea of where the interest lies.
Also, I have had a pretty encouragin response for forum members who actually want to make some kind of commitment to this. The icing on the cake is that I have also secured our very talented sculptor's commitment too.

So, keep the votes and ideas coming... I am very much in listening mode

Doing the cuirassiers in tricornes too is a good idea. Have you considered doing the recently released cavalry in tricornes too?
