How far do you want me to go back or should it be only the "Age of Napoleon"? If so I put it in the "Raising the Saxon Army 1810-1813"-tread. Either way I put the historical details of this Army in both of my treads so you can read all of it anyway.

The Saxons for the 1866 war will do nicely for me!
One day a company will produce figures for the Saxons so that my Austrians can have some decent allies and show those pesky Prussians a thing or two.

Did someone translate all the Weggie talk for you Gunter?

Dave,
could be a problem as the book that I call my Bible was written 1855... :? I will look into it  .
W. Friedrichs, a German, did go from 1810-1918 in the last book of the Uniforms of the Saxon Army.

I got offers for translations each day :D
After all most of my new friends were good enough to let me know what they ment when they thought I didnt understand
„Macht Euch Euren Dregg alleene“

"Sort your filth out by yourself!" The King of Saxony Friedrich August III., at his abdication 1918, referred to the quarrels in the parliament and the squabbling within the provisional government.

Hi Barry

My email address is tonydillon@hotmail.com

Thanks for the weekend. Good fun even though I was trashed on the Sunday by Bill. A good set of rules that you have there and I look forward to playing with them again.
regards

Just wanted to add my thanks to Barry, Bob and Adrian for a terrific weekend's battling with some fantastic figures and staggeringly beautiful terrain.

Thanks too for the print, my wife has a frame waiting for it.

Thanks also to all the players for making it a memorable weekend both on the battlefield and in the bar, especially those who did not laugh too hard at my suspect dice rolling on Saturday!

Hope to see you all in October (if not before) and if you know of any willing volunteers to join the upper echelons of my brigade can you send their details to c/o N. Bonaparte PO Box 1 Paris. Mark the envelope for the attention of C. Fodder.

Hi Barry,

I borrowed one of your pictures so all of the other Forum members who had not the time to be at Derby last weekend have a chance to see the (strange) faces behind the names of those who were there

VERY WELCOME CHAPS. There are lots more but this batch I tidied up today. Haven't loaded any onto the site yet but thought I'd give the players a sneak preview! 8)

Dear Dave,

You painted your troops very lovely and you can be proud of most of their performance, including the 'Italiens'. BUT I am obliged to tell you that the uniforms of the Regimental gunners are not correct
The crew was not from the Parent Regiment taken but Regular Gunners from the Artillery Regiment. So the boys should have worn darkgreen coats with red breast and white or grey trouses. See Picture.
The Infantry 'von Rechten' is well done, even as they carried an Italien Flag this weekend
I am currently planing a stationing of my Saxons in England, just have to find out how to transport them savely up there and where to 'quarter' them :?

Thanks for that Gunter, I think
I thought I got the info from one of Stephen Summervilles book on the Saxons but perhaps it was for the earlier Saxon army that it was regimental gunners that manned the weapons. All information is always greatfully accepted.

I think my colonel's have enough problems with being shot in the front without encouraging men to shoot them in the back! :D
