Hi Dave,

The Artillery-Rules did work well IMO eventually they need some kind of fine tuning. Something came up wile using. FIBUA is best to ask Colin  our expert fighting for and in BUA :D

Günter
Hi Dave,

Having experienced an assault under the old FIBUA back in December when my 3 battalions annihilated a single defending battalion with minimal losses (bar my traditional pruning of the high command) I certainly thought the new rules felt more realistic.

This time I was involved in 3 assaults. The first was made by 3 battalions finishing after a couple of rounds with the Russian defenders making an orderly withdrawal after failing a resolve check (they'd won the round they left too!). The second with 3 battalions (though one decided they had a pressing appointment elsewhere) was repulsed easily (with spectacular dead heading of senior officers) and the final one ended in the wholescale slaughter of the defenders.

However, having seen one loss and one win by default, for this last assault I tried to put in 6 battalions (2 were shy this time), had all officers out and even then it was close for a round or two before finally weight of numbers and lack of Russian reserves told - 42 dice to 8 if I remember.

New BUA rules definitely a success I thought - much harder to predict the outcome, thus more tension and most importantly (to me at least), more fun!

Great summary Colin, thanks for that. The response to the amendments has been very favourable.

Would have used it here Gunter but my web designer stuck me in as the rather boring Barr7430... I have no idea what the numbers actually mean!

What I want to know is:

Is this a deliberate attempt to take the post count for a single thread to the highest level on the boards and steal 'the crown'???

So... lets see how to do this without highchecking the reason why this thread was placed on here in the first place

Ah, yes, the Derby aftermath.... Thanks to Bob and his offer  I decided to keep the figures in Austria and travel with them from battle to battle like an old Warlord :D
The transport will be done in a very tough plastic box which I have to obtain now. Placed into it are 6cm high foam rubber layers with removable 14x14mm adhesive parts. That enables me to put 12 stands into one layer. The Plan is to have 5 layers into this kind of box. That is roughly a Division of 10 batallions.

Further, more intense, planing is on its way

Next time with some pics
