LoA 2014 Weekender Calendar

Post by barr7430 » Wed Oct 23, 2013 8:34 am

We are currently taking some discussion about 2014 and what events will run where.
We anticipate at least two full blown weekenders. One will be in Derby and one in Scotland. Our plan is likely to be Dumfries at a wargaming friendly hotel in the town.

In addition, we will run 2 - 4 one day games at least 2 of which will be in Central Scotland. We may run a one dayer to tie in with Partizan (1 of 2) in the Nottingham area.

We are also investigating a venue in the North East of England.

The definites are:

The weekenders WILL run with at least 1 in Derby.
The one dayers WILL run with at least 2 in Central Scotland

As to subject matter; We are becoming spoiled for choice but anticipate theGrand Alliance Period, Napoleonic and now we are seriously considering ACW at some point. More soon...

Weekenders are for me the best reason to cross over the Channel. :D

Did you mention ACW?...Hm, strange, I gave last week order to my painter to start with my Confederates...not the usual Army size, you know  ?

Just a Brigade here and there...
Hope my informants in Scotland stay in touch with me

Ray,

If Derby remains in the same Building it would be

The Derby Conference Centre
London Road
Derby
Derbyshire

Hope that helps

I'd be up for a Grand Alliance weekender in October again, either Derby or Scotland...

One day events could also be interesting, depending on period (not a great napoleonic fan!)

Well the Williamites would certainly feel welcome in Larkhall...

Not so sure about the safety of any Jacobite figures!

All sounds great!

Derby & Dumfries are good locations for me. Also, I'm happy to attend weekenders or one day events.

First preference is Grand Alliance but I'm up for Napoleonic & ACW as well.

Definitely up for weekend games in Derby and Dumfries, as well as a Partizan linked one day game in Notts.

Sounds great. Up for the weekend games in both Dumfries and Derby and any one dayers in Scotland.

Cheers,

Happy to do either. Kieran would probably do one weekender next year and some of the one dayers depending on exams etc

Cheers

Gerry

Toggy and I had a chat about it yesterday. We think the following type of calendar is possible:

2 weekenders (Spring and Autumn)
5 x 1 day-ers beginning January and sprinkled through the year.

Our intention would be to cater for what people really like R2E and BLB and on the 1 day events introduce 2 new Republic to Empire variants for which we are equipped;

RALLY TO THE COLORS! (ACW)
FOUR EMPIRES (CRIMEAN)

That would give folks a taste of something new whilst majoring on BLB and R2E in both one and two day format.

Venues likely:
Derby, Larkhall and Dumfries.

More on dates soon. I need to get them in MY calendar about 6 months in advance or I have no chance of being there
