Derby 2014 - A call to arms!

Post by barr7430 » Fri Sep 12, 2014 11:31 pm

For those gamers joining us at Derby this October this is a call to arms!

If you have your own troops who you would like to have on the table during an important battle in Ireland  please let me know an I can roster them instead of troops supplied by LoA.

Jacobites of any flavour
Huguenot Foot & Horse
Dutch Foot, Horse & Dragoons
English Foot , Horse & Dragoons
Danish Foot & Horse
Williamite Irish Foot ,Horse & Dragoons

can all be accommodated!

Let me know as soon as is possible...

Unit name and composition (ie # sqdns or pike & shot/ all musket etc)

see you there!

Foot all musket:

Monsieur!

Your men will muster in the line under your command! The whole world looks forward with interest to viewing you acting as a lightning rod for every piece of ordnance flying towards men of rank on ANY battlefield during the weekend!

Dear Friends,

In about 20 Hours the Saxon Armies will break up their Camps around Vienna and start their march North. They will travel over Prague, Dresden and Leipzig to Magdeburg to stay there for the Night.
On Tuesday they move over Hannover and Osnabrueck towards Holland where we hope to arrive in the afternoon at Hoek van Holland. There we are encamped until Wednesday.
The Ferry will transport us to Harwich the same Day late in the evening.
On Thursday Morning we meet with the Regiments Garde du Corps, v. Zastrow and Leib-Kürassier Garde just a few miles south of Harwich. Together we move to Milton Keynes to Rest there over night before we start on Friday towards Derby.

In real numbers there would be the
Saxon Army of August the Strong with 28 Battalions, 24 Squadrons and some Guns about 19.000 Men.
Saxon Napoleonic Army with 26 Battalions, 32 Squadrons and "some" Artillery about 32.000 Men.

Hope to see you all there Fit and Healthy.

Cheers,
Günter
