After Barry floated the idea of us running something a little different in 2015, I am pleased to announce the first confirmed Waterloo 2015 Weekender - 16/17/18 October 2015 in Derby. We hope to have at least 1 more date for a 'Waterloo' in Scotland/Scottish Borders (around April/May) and we are looking for suitable locations as we speak. Once we are able to announce further dates you will be the first to know.

With this being such an iconic battle and anniversary, we are making the Waterloo Weekenders a little different than previous weekenders.

I will be sculpting the battlefield and based on the fact that we (Adrian's Walls) have just produced 2 bespoke builds of the battlefield - I'm sure next years terrain will surpass anything you have seen at previous weekenders! All the usual buildings will be there - Hougoumont, La Haye Sainte etc

I said we are adding something a little different and memorable to these particular weekenders and the first of these is that each guest will get a painted 28mm command figure representing their actual commander - to use over the weekend and keep as a momento of the weekend.

The second thing that we have added is that all guests of the Waterloo weekenders will be entered into a Free Prize Draw on Sunday 18th October where the prizes will be the sections of the terrain itself. Anyone attending any Waterloo Weekenders will automatically be entered into the draw.

We may also have a few other little surprises, but will keep these under wraps for the time being.....

The Weekend comprises of a full residential package with 2 nights stay and full meals covered (breakfast, lunch and diner, tea/coffe/biscuits 'on tap' during the day). Mein hosts will be there for all your requirements and entertainment...( ...LIFTGATE...!) and to make your weekender a memorable one.

The cost of the Waterloo Weekender is £300pp. A deposit of £75 is required upon booking with the balance payable 10 weeks prior to the weekender date (booking forms and T & C's available).

With regards to booking - the 'office' is now open. However, as a thank you to previous guests for the support and input they have given to make the weekenders as successful and popular as they are, we are giving 'Priority Booking'. Up to 20th December 2014, priority booking is available to any previous guests of any of our other weekenders. After this date any remaining places will be available for any new potential attendees. We are happy to take 'reservations' now, from any potential new people wishing to attend and any remaining places will be allocated/offered on a 'first reserved/first served' basis after 20th December 2014. Please PM me so that I can compile names etc.

For further details or queries, please PM me or post on this thread. Either Barry, Toggy or myself will keep updating you with 'intel'.

Cheers

Adrian

Regret I'll have to pass on this one.

Double booked, and have to confess napoleonics just don't float my boat...

I'm sure it will be up to the usual superb standard! Enjoy!

Guys

I forgot to put in that the number of commands/guests for the Waterloo Weekenders is a maximum of 16 players per weekend. The first weekender date has only been up a few days and we are already 'half full' in priority bookings.

Those of you posting 'booking requests' on the thread and personally to me, I will get booking and payment details to you next week (after 'Smoggycon').

Cheers

This is my first time for a Weekender, but please put me down for a slot if one is still open after the priority people have their pass at it. Thanks so much.

Don't think we have conversed previously on the site - so 'hello'...

You are on the list and we will keep you informed once the priority bookings period is up. I would like to say that you maybe the furthest travelling attendee...but we have had someone from The States over previously. We may have to get the map out and do some calculations!

Nearer the time, if you require any 'local input' about where you are heading etc, there are plenty of helpful guys on the site (and of course Barry, Toggy and myself!).

Cheers

What is the best or nearest airport to fly into for Derby? Is there more than one Derby and if so which one are we gaming in? I see a Derby to the west of Nottingham but I want to make sure that's the correct one. Next question is a bit different, when does the Premier League start up? My son watches that all the time and he'd love to attend a game.

Greg

Thanks for your PM to me with your personal email address - I'll be droping you a line to your email when were over 'the New Year' festivities.

With regards to your queries (above) I will help you with info/intel about your trip over to the Weekender...but for now:

1) The Derby you want is the one you've highlighted - just west of Nottingham.
2) East Midlands Airport is the nearest (15 miles away) - but not sure if it is big enough to take direct flights from The States - you'll have to check it out.
3) The hotel is very close to Derby Train station if you are planning to travel by train (once in UK).
4) Premier League will be into its new season when you are over here - so you should be able to take in a game or 2.

Hope this quick update helps.

Cheers

Adrian

Greg,

Eventually You ask Bob from Le Roi Soleil aka conflans how he went over the big pond to attend to the Show in Derby two Years ago.
Even as he traveled from an a bit larger distance to the UK

IMHO it would be also a posibility for you to take a flight to Birmingham International Airport (BHX). From there with the Train in about 40 minutes to Derby.
You will have to change the train twice as there is no dirct connection from the Airport to Derby.

Looks as if direct flights are available if Greg lives in Atlanta and Vicinity...
had just tried the following booking:
http://www.expedia.com/Flights-Search?m ... Search-All

Hope that helps
Günter

There are just 2 places left for our Waterloo Weekend 'mega-game' left.

With the unfortunate cancelling of the Scotland event in March (see Scotland Weekender thread) - we are nearly fully booked!

If you are interested let us know soon as possible - once we start promoting it at show events (starting at York 1st Feb).... we don't think it will take long to be booked up.

Cheers

Just an update to say we have just one command/place left for this event.

If anyone is interested in this last spot - please let us know ASAP as we will be promoting/advertising it on the show circuit - starting this weekend at the York show.

Cheers
