Thank you all so kindly for your comments, very encouraging for the further work on the Scanian War Project!
It was great fun portraying Charles XI, popularly known as "old gray cape" for his toned down clothing. A practical man with a love of organization of state and military, not unlike that of the later Prussian Frederic the Great.
Many have heard of his son, Charles XII with Poltava and all that, but without Charles XI his son, and the Swedish Empire, would not have been able to fight the Great Norther War at all.
The bases are made as follows:
- Base is flocked with sand
- Brown base color
- Highlight of bone color
- Glue applied to small areas, golden grass is flocked on
- Green tufts are glued on
- Everything receives a further clear white highlight to add the "morning frost"
