Thinking about King William's War in Newfoundland: French Marines, English Regulars, Fishermen's Militia, Native Warriors and Irish Volunteers.

It's an interesting period but so far we have only gotten around to fighting one game set in the period but look forward to having more.

One of the problems with Donnybrook is that there are so many interesting periods to game that butterflys like me get easily distracted.

I think the word you were looking for was moth

We are doing Anglo Dutch Wars in India to Clive of India period. Using Reiver European figures, but having problems sourcing Moghul figures in the UK. Any ideas where I could find such figures?

I believe Redoubt does a very useful range of Indians for the Clive period.
At a pinch many of the older Foundry Indian Mutiny figures could be used especially the cavalry.

I'm tempted to do the '45 period. Something about mad highlanders and poncy British officers that appeals :)

I'm with you Bill.
Highlanders.
The unwashed, full kilt, targe and dirk in one hand, sword in the other, screaming mass of tartan and hair.
Not the silly redcoats and kilt wearing Brits.

Not doing another 25mm project, well join the rest of us in doing another 28mm project (thats that problem overcome).
I am thinking about doing the following:
Jacobite 1745; (Have the Redcoats, but need the Highlanders)
Russians V Cossacks/Barr rebellion (Have the Russians, need the oppos.)
French indian wars;(Have lots for Muskets & Tomahawks. Duplication?)
OR Year of the French, 1795 Irish rebellion (Have lots of unpainted Trent miniatures)
Decisions, decisions.
It's better to have fought & lost, than not have fought at all.

I purchased the rules at Salute. Not 100% sure which setting or factions I might do at present although Tangiers might be a strong possibility as I already have some terrain suitable but in 20mm.

Or as I live a mile from the river Medway the Anglo Dutch wars is also a strong possibility. Having said all that I am bound to settle on something very different as the rules are very flexible that way and I have "Wargames ADHD". :D

Only got the rules the other day, but primarily thinking of doing a British West Country setting, with the following factions, Cornish Smugglers, Cultists (think Wicker Man), British Army (and possibly A French invading force), Town Militia led by a Witch Hunter, and for my final force either a religious group or a faerie faction, will look to incorporate some more folklore elements via event cards, and have a few ideas to add a campaign mode.
Also quite tempted by the Great Northern War or Clive in India (apparently I am distantly related to Clive).
Picking up odd figures that can be used in both settings at the moment.
