Donnybrook in the Low Countries

Post by Whiskey Priest » Tue Jun 14, 2016 9:27 pm

Hi all, first post around here so I thought i'd show off a game of Donnybrook we had the other day. We used my Dutch Revolt figures and played a game where a Dutch force had to try and capture a bridge form a determined Spanish force.

It's good to see Donnybrook getting used for another period and I enjoyed your game report.

Thought you might like to see the first cavalry unit for the next game. A bunch of German mercenary Reiters.

Yeah, they are citadel empire pistoliers from some years back, mounted on front rank horses plus a little bit of head swapping. I've got a big bag of them so that I can eventually to a big old unit or two.

Very cool! Now you need to go high fantasy - the Renaissance orcs from Foundry (now under Warmonger) would fit in well with your Elizabethan collection...

Orclings d6
Mercenary Orcs d8
Great Orcs d10

They have all manner of characters too...

Anyway, very cool!

Great battle report and it's good to see people incorporating their own ideas into the game such as using Golem instead of a pack of dogs, very like what I have done with my Cossacks by using a Russian bear instead of 3 dogs. Keep up the good work.
