Jim, I have to say, after seeing your troops expand over the last few weeks and months I'm truly impressed. Well done they are a fine body of men. (wee men, that is)

Next Infantry Battalion

This will be a light infantry battalion in green uniforms. They fought in Spain with Junot's 8th Corps of the Army of Portugal. This will be a basic 36-man battalion but it will also have 24 skirmish figures based in twos so it can break down entirely into skirmish order with a 12-man support block to retire on. The reason for the 12-man block is that the wee buggers are based in sixes and, to me, it actually looks better.

My mentor, Dave 'O, said I should see the light and paint some green uniforms, so who am I to disagree?

Clearly, you should paint some dragoons, chasseurs a cheval, or 7th or 8th Hussars. If you're feeling feisty, there's always the Napoleonic Kingdom of Italy :-).

1st Dragoons - the First of the Cavalry

Rob,

Clearly, you are a man after my own heart and a bloody good psychic too as I intend to do a four-squadron 32-figure dragoon regiment at the same time as the Micks to give me a little variety when painting.

Another bunch of wee green men to warm the cockles of Dave 'O.

Well, you could paint the 14th and 26th Dragoons for 1805, since they were commanded by Lasalle at Austerlitz. That way, everybody including the brigadier is in green!

PS, does Maverick do flags for the 2nd-4th squadrons too?

It will be interesting to see if you Irish did as well as they did at Mockern before eventually being destroyed. I look forward to seeing all your new troops on the battlefield at some time in the future Jim.
Cheers

STFU!

French Dragoons 1807... and yes, the flag is deliberately on the large side.
Slow as usual, I have completed 12 out of the 32 figures I have purchased.
