Basing Prussian

Post by TIMUR57 » Thu Jul 19, 2007 5:33 pm

Hi Friends
I'm painting some Calpe Prussians and I've a question for Kevin Calder.
I saw Kevin's Prussians in pictures in the LOGW Napoleonic section.
Can I know the size of the base?
How many base for a batallion?

Thanks and kind regards from Italy!

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for the enquiry about the Prussians , the base sizes are as follows:
Jaegers , 40mm x 40mm 2 figs per base 16 figs in unit = 8 bases.
All other foot , 40mm x 40mm 4 figs per base 36figs + mtd Colonel = 9 bases ( command base is 40mm x 55mm deep to accomodate horse )
Artillery , 70mm wide x 85 deep .
Cavalry , 50mm wide x 60mm deep 2 figs per base 3 x sqds of 6 figs per Regt.
All the Regimental command figs are based up on circular bases from Games Workshop 60mm diameter .

I don't have any commercial Napoleonic rulesets so do not know if any of these base sizes are really correct but they work ok in Barry's rules and I have not encountered any problems in our games with unit frontages when up against other peoples troops that are based up for commercial sets.

regards
Kevin ( aka Schnapps ).
